Verbal affirmations have been a popular topic involving goal-setting. Language is the most proactive form of communication and people nowadays believe that if you say something enough times, eventually you will condition your mind believe it. The essence of verbal affirmations involves setting a aside a period of the day, say 5 to 10 minutes, reaffirming a goal you have in mind as if it has already happened, and soon your mind will start to adopt belief, making it easier to reach the goal.
But the problem with this method is that aside from this period of time, we are constantly bombarded with other collective thoughts that conflict with our verbal affirmations.

There are 5 things that if we can improve on everyday would result in two valuable aspects of our life. One of the results would be being more productive during the day. The other one would be having more inner peace within ourselves. The 5 things that improve productivity and inner peace are time, character, mentality, emotions, and health.
Most people either have one or the other in terms of productivity and inner peace. But imagine working at your job everyday having absolute clarity, being emotion-free, and getting more results done in less time. It will take some small changes, but small changes 1 day at a time can have monumental changes for a lifetime. I’ve outlined some of my ideas below.

Intuition is often mixed up with the word instinct. They’re sort of the same thing, except instinct is more of an instant reaction that’s not based on knowledge or reasoning. Intuition, on the other hand, is of a feeling you get from previous knowledge that adds up to a certain moment or a special kind of awareness of what’s going on. Instead of saying, “Yes” or “No,” it’s more like, “Yeah… maybe this will work out…” or “I… I don’t really know about this…” How do I know this? Well, I went through a very powerful experience in my life that taught me to trust my intuition through a series of “build-up” moments. This is how the story went.
One day during my freshman year of college, I was heading to discussion class and noticed an attractive girl on the side of the steps. As I walking up, she approached me with a bright smile. “Hi there,” she said, “Would you be interested in filling out a quick survey?”

In life, we are often encountered by many problems that stop us from doing what we want to do. Most of these things however are only happening in our mind. If you’re ever scared or doubtful to do something, ask yourself, “What’s the worst thing that can happen?”
Don’t take it so literally though. I don’t mean repeatedly going visualizing the worst possible scenario of getting punched in the face and then going out and picking a fight with a stranger. That’s not too smart. What I do mean by this is for you to be able to break a limitation that is stopping you from doing something that you have been wanting to do.

There comes a point in our lives where we are not getting the results that we want, whether it is getting better grades in school, losing more weight, or making more money. We see other people succeed and it seems to stay that way. It seems like no matter what we do or what we try, we just can’t seem to get there. What’s the secret behind successful people?
It comes down to how hungry people are and how much they are willing to sacrifice in order to get something that they’re truly passionate about. If you have ever felt something that’s stopping you from achieving your goal, here are some questions you may consider asking yourself.

Complaining happens when we are dissatisfied with a current situation. It can be anything that sets us off such as getting cut in line or not getting the job we interviewed for. Expressing negative self-talk is a way of coping a situation that we don’t like, but it usually fails to address the real problem, which is finding a solution and moving on from it.
People unconsciously complain because it makes them feel good at times. If more people were aware that they were complaining, then they would make a better choice to not feel that way. The truth is complaining often makes us feel good inside when we develop a habit of complaining, especially when it draws negative attention to us. But not only does it leave a negative atmosphere, but it leaves an unhealthy way of living.

In our fast-moving society, we want to be able to have quick-fixes. It seems like we’re either moving away from something or moving towards something all the time. When we are confronted with pain, we remind each other that the strong learn to “live with it” and move on.
Others, who are not strong enough, may resort to quick fixes such as taking medicine, consuming alcohol, or using drugs in order to find relief. You can see this from the millions of people who continue to ruin their health by smoking cigarettes to relieve pain. This is why cigarette companies have also made billions of dollars through victims of pain by giving smokers a chance for five minutes or so to “escape reality”.

There are times where we go through the day without realizing the thoughts that are coming in our minds. Some of them are good, some of them cause us to procrastinate a lot, and some of them cause us pain. When we are not aware of these thoughts, they can turn into an obsession.
For example, you may experience a painful breakup and keep having obsessive thoughts over your ex boyfriend or girlfriend. Or, you may see a foreclosure sign as you are passing through the neighborhood and you may have obsessive thoughts of not being able to pay your rent bills. As you are walking late at night in the dark, you may have obsessive thoughts of being attacked in the street. All of these things make life harder than it really has to be.

Hello and I hope everybody had a happy new year yesterday! Since it’s the beginning of the year, I wanted to talk about some effective strategies for really making your new year’s resolutions happen this year, if you happened to have made one for yourself. These are some of the fundamental strategies to goal setting, but if you can get this down, you will be able to reach your resolution by Jan. 1, 2011.
All successful people who have reached their goal, whether it was losing more weight or making more money, have used these techniques and principles. I hope you not only just read what follows, but actually apply them to whatever it is that your are trying to go for before the year flies by again. The first of these techniques is to…

Whoa, I’ve made it! A hundred posts. This probably will be my most reflective post on what it feels like being a blogger, in my own words. Also, this will be last post this year.
At first I thought being a blogger was easy. I mean, all you do is write right? Boy was I wrong. I think all bloggers out there have to realize that blogging is like a real job. You can’t just sail through it, and most of all, you have to stay committed! Sometimes I go to other blogs to post the latest comment, and before I’m done commenting, I realize look up at the date and realize that it’s one or two months old! Other times, I see that people have not posted in months!
